It was a magical night at the Magic Chef Mansion as folks rallied together for the ‘Hit A Home Run for St. Martha’s Hall’ fundraiser on Friday, April 6th. About 130 guests attended the baseball-themed party, which raised over $12,000 for St. Martha’s Hall, a St. Louis-based shelter for abused women and their children.
Partner Matt Devoti, a board member for the organization, attended the fundraiser with his mother, Bonnie Devoti. They, along with other guests, got a rare glimpse inside the historic Magic Chef Mansion, an old-world estate constructed in 1908 and located in the historic Compton Hill Reservoir neighborhood. Guests also enjoyed baseball-themed snacks and drinks, along with the opportunity to bid on fabulous auction items.
Partner Matt Devoti and his law Partner, Matt Casey, have been supporters of St. Martha’s Hall since Devoti joined the Board of Directors in 2012. Since that time, the firm has hosted a cereal food drive, as well as provided in-kind services and sponsorships for various events, including this recent fundraiser.
All proceeds from the ‘Hit a Home Run for St. Martha’s Hall’ event will go toward the organization’s mission of helping women and their children break the cycle of violence in their lives by offering safe, confidential shelter and services. In addition to providing the physical shelter, the non-profit also provides crisis intervention, support groups, individual support, advocacy programs, information and referral networks, and community education.
St. Martha’s Hall is always looking for individuals to donate their money, time and talents. Monetary and in-kind donations provide necessary supplies to keep the shelter open. Volunteers can assist with childcare, transportation services, donation sorting, and various fundraising programs.
