Casey & Devoti is pleased to announce that Partner Matt Casey has recently completed 11 years of service to The Lawyers Association of St. Louis.
The Lawyers Association of St. Louis is known as the trial lawyers association in St. Louis and includes both plaintiff and defense lawyers, as well as members of the judiciary of the federal, state and local benches. It was founded in 1934 as an inclusive group that allowed members of the bench and bar, regardless of ethnicity and religion.
The association promotes trial advocacy by providing opportunities for members to network and give back to the community they serve. The group hosts a variety of events and programs throughout the year, including: annual black history month dinner, annual judiciary appreciation dinner, annual softball game and picnic, annual bench and bar memorial remembrance service, and volunteer opportunities with Habitat for Humanity.
The association’s premier event is the annual Gridiron Dinner & Show, which is a musical parody on the St. Louis legal community. Each year, they also present a member with the Award of Honor, which is given to a lawyer who exhibits exemplary service to the legal profession, to the association and to the community.
Throughout his years of service, Matt helped plan and promote the association’s many events and programs. Matt’s exemplary dedication to the organization is evident by his willingness to take on virtually every role within the organization. Over the years, Matt has served as a committee member at large, an executive committee member, secretary, treasurer, vice-president, president-elect and president. He recently concluded his decade-plus commitment by serving as an advisor to the current executive committee.
